Episode 9 - Civilizations vs Recyclers

This game is included in the additional "Global Campaign" Distant Galaxy (9 stages).

Episode 9 - Civilizations vs Recyclers.

Historical background.

188 yaer after creation of the UC.

In the process of exploring the artifacts of the new galaxy, some Civilizations had a vague feeling that someone had already managed to rummage through the treasures of the Aboriginals before them. It's time to get acquainted with those who like to create a dump and dismantling of scrap metal from the creations of sentient beings. It is time for civilizations, including the Union of Oceans, to finally learn that there is strength only in unity!

In this scenario of the game, one of the participants plays for the last known Civilization, speaking against all other space powers.

Recyclers have a large fleet and pose a considerable danger to ordinary Civilizations and the Union of Oceans, not only because of their potential abundance, but also cunning and resourcefulness.

Some differences from the basic rules of the game.

  • Points are not counted
  • There can't be more then 16 moves in the game
  • There can be no more than 4 participants in the game (one player is for the recyclers)
  • Any deals and exchange of resources and technologies are prohibited (except for the ability to give the planet to another player if he flew into its orbit.)
  • Technologies are developed in 1 turn
  • Everyone plays not for themselves, but together with all other players against the recyclers
  • Almost all positiveship attack/defense bonuses do not work, except base building bonus for federations and republics (+1 defense). Anarchy +1 defense, i.e. 0, not -1
  • Cruisers apply attack/defense bonuses on themselves only
  • Chaos does not use the normal "Kamikaze" skill against the enemy. Also, Chaos ships only have +1 to their attack number.
  • Monarchy doesn't have the "Hover Failure tech". Also Monarchy ships only have +1 defense number
  • The Republic is deprived of the technology of safe passage of portals
  • Chaos, Monarchy and Republic get any additional level 4 planet at the start of the game.

Recyclers' target , one of 3:

  1. to display the full number of the base fleet on the field (20 pieces, place them in 4 different sectors, at least 2 in each sector)
  2. to create 3 motherships and place them in different sectors (each should have 2 regular ships next to them)
  3. to create 4 motherships and place them in different sectors (each must have 1 ordinary ship next to them)

Accordingly, the goal of other players is to prevent this from happening.

Colonization

Recyclers do not colonize planets, only attack and ravage colonies.

The remaining Civilizations place colonies on the field before the game. The headquarters planets are in the center of the field.

Each  Civilization places 8 regular chips of colonys on the game board (all 4 sectors contain at least 1 planet). Of these, you can take only 1 planet of level 4. No more than 1 colony in the central area, except for the headquarters.

Notes on the Union of Oceans. This civ can also play against Recyclers. At the beginning of the game, she has a total of 9 colony chips - 2 headquarters in the central area and 7 docks in 4 sectors. As usual, Union only occupies water planets. He can colonize new planets by removing chips from other planets (essentially swapping docks). Logistic of Union - 3 ships. Recyclers can remove them from the field on a successful attack (they attack like any other Civilizations), but they get 2 resources from the ship (you need to surround them by 3 of your own).

Movement

Movement speed - 3 cells for all types of ships (including motherships).

Recyclers use blue portals with standard risk (red portals +1 to number of risk).

Important - they also use level 4 purple type neutral planets to move around as if they were their colonies (but there should be no enemy ships near the final destination planet).

Affordable logistics tied to the total number of players:

  1. One opponent at the Recyclers - 3 logistics points
  2. Two opponents at the Recyclers - 5 logistics points
  3. Three opponents at the Recyclers - 7 logistics points

Also at the end of each turn, when all movements are over, it is possible to replenish the Recyclers fleet from another part of the galaxy:

  1. One opponent at the Recyclers - no replenishment
  2. Two opponents at the Recyclers - +1 ship to any portal (except 3 red in the center of the field)
  3. Three opponents at the Recyclers - +2 ships to any portal (except 3 red in the center of the field)

Ships that arrived as replenishment do not move, but can participate in the attack. In the web version, the ship is sent from repair to the reserve and from there to the field.

Start and withdrawal from the reserve

At the start of the game, Recyclers place 4 normal ships near some random blue portal, also 1 mother ship to choose from in the same place.

At the start, the Recyclers also have 6 ships in reserve. They can be used by placing them near any portals (except for the 3 red ones in the center of the field) or near neutral planets of the 4th level of the purple type. Thus, all ships built in the future are used.

There can be up to 10 normal ships in the reserve, you can no longer accumulate in the reserve.

Types of ships and objects of the Recyclers

Ordinary ship

Base fleet of the Recyclers.

Chip of Resource

Is not a ship, but occupies the cells of the field.

Attacking mothership *

red mark - +1 attack to ships within a 2 cell radius around him (against ships and planets)

Transport mothership *

yellow mark - transports up to 3 ships around itself without spending logistics for them

Supplying mothership *

green mark - up to +2 resources at the end of each turn (without the possibility of use) around him within a radius of 1 cell: (dice) 1-2 - 0 res.; 3-4 - 1 res.; 5-6 - 2 res.

Universal mothership *

purple mark - can act as any mothership, each turn one of the properties to choose from, however, it has -1 defense

* The hyperlaser does not work against the mothership, it is an analogue of the cruiser.

Resources used by the Recyclers

Income from processing

Each turn, 1 chip of resource is automatically given at the start of the turn. - the die decides which of the blue portals.

During the recycling process (successful attack on ships and planets), chips of resource are created from which you can make a fleet:

  • ship capture - 1 resource
  • cruiser capture - 2 resources
  • capturing a colony - 3 resources
  • capturing a headquarters planet - 5 resources

How to arrange the received resource blocks on the playing field - you can occupy empty cells closest to the source of these resources.

Conditions for obtaining resources

One ship separately cannot attack and receive resources. For a successful attack, you need to surround objects with a certain number of ships, all of which use their right to attack.

To surround the ship with 2 of your own - success with numbers 5-6.

To surround the cruiser with 3 of your own - success - 5-6.

To surround the colony with 4 of your own - success 5-6 (if the planet is unguarded).

With a total of 4 players (Recyclers and 3 opponents), standard success is 4-6.

There is also a cumulative attack bonus, the larger surrounding of object, the stronger the attack, +1 success for each ship added to the attack.

Resource consumption

Creation of conventional ships - 0.5 resource, that is, 2 ships can be built from 1 resource. To unpack a resource block, you need to occupy this cell with your ship, the block is removed from the field and a fleet can be created in the side section of the game's reserve. A single ship can unpack 1 block of resources.

Creation of the mothership (different types) - 4 resources in one place at once (blocks are connected in one chain), to unpack 4 resources into the mothership, it is enough to approach the warehouse of 4 resources with any ship. The mothership is created immediately on the field, on one of the cells where the resources spent on it were.

If there are not enough resources, you can use ordinary ships - turn them into resources (2 nearby ships in 1 block) and then use them for the mothership (but no more than 1 ship dismantling per turn).

Resources can be dragged (up to 2 pieces) on a hitch (sticked to the ship) by one ship to another place.

Destruction of resources and Recyclers

Removing resources from the field - just take a cell with a resource, but this ends the move.

Successful attack on a single-standing utilizer - numbers 3-6, on a utilizer that is in contact with its other ships - numbers 4-6.

Successful attack on the mothership - numbers 5-6, but you need to surround the mothership with two (both participate in one attack).
